You know, friends who are only your friend when it’s a matter of convenience, or when they need or want something from you or maybe even they’re just in a good mood and feel like gracing you with their presence. I don’t really have the patience for that kind of bullshit. And not only is it a matter of my patience, it’s also just one of the most unattractive qualities in a person. I know a lot of people are assholes, but I also know that a lot of people are not assholes. I feel like the older I get, the less bullshit I feel like putting up with…Which means the less fear I have regarding telling people how I REALLY feel. This means that it’s taking everything within me to not write a list of individuals who happen to completely suck wads in the friendship department… Whatever. The point is: Let us not bother with those who only bother with us under their own specific circumstances. Life is short and so is the fuse connected to my patience. Right?  There are certain times in your life when you really find out who has your back! It can be a sad realization, but it can also be one of the best things in the world. The friends who sick with you are the ones you know you will have forever!

Monday Check-In

Obsessing over: How much work I have to do (450 emails, thank you very much!) since I have been out of the office for 7 days due to vacation, snow and this terrible, no good, very bad cold!  

Working on: All of the work

Thinking about:  How many minutes until I can go home and sleep! 

Anticipating: The great cold of 2012 being over and getting back to the land of the living!

Listening to: The constant complaining going on in my office due to the fact that the coffee maker is BROKEN!

Wishing: I was still in NYC with my east coast besties (and one of my west coast ones too) eating, drinking, laughing and meeting wonderful new people that feel like ones I’ve known forever!

In other news…

Chris has been working SO HARD on The New House! The progress last week was amazing, due in large part to the generous help of a couple of our friends (fellow husbands).

I have no idea what I would do without his incredible ability to look at something and have a vision! This house is going to be amazing!

Guess who I got to meet last night!

Last night Chris and I went over to meet all 11 lbs. 8 oz. of amazing, that is Little Oliver! He’s even cuter than he looks!

Yup, he’s smiling at me. He loves his Auntie B already!

I see we are already perfecting our side-eye!

Momand Dad are doing great and looking great.

They are so incredibly happy and I couldn’t be happier for them!

Look how excited NPH is that it’s Lacey’s birthday??? I mean, aren’t we all?

She is one of the most amazing women you will ever meet. She would do ANYTHING for her friends and is always there when you need her!

I’m lucky to call her a friend and I can only hope that this next year is as awesome as she is!

Cape Disappointment

This weekend we went camping with a group at Cape Disappointment on the Long Beach Peninsula. Friday we had great weather for the drive and were hopeful that the rain would hold off, for the most part.

Again, Friday was beautiful! We had no problems setting up camp and getting the tarp up over the food table…just in case.

And, camping with the most adorablest baby ever didn’t hurt! This was baby E’s first camping trip. He did amazingly well!

By Saturday night the rain had moved in. Luckily, I am married to the Blue Tarp Camper (from the Pemco commercials, if you are from around here) and everyone was able to stay mostly dry and warm, all thanks to Chris!
